Biography

Abhirup (Abby) Aich is Chief Operating Officer and a co-founder of FR Global Macro (FRGM), where he leads the firm's operations and grounds its research in real-world geopolitical analysis. He brings 24 years of experience across global politics, economics, and financial markets, with a focus on decoding complex geopolitical landscapes into actionable insight for strategic decision-making. Before FRGM, he served as Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Branch for the Government of India (2022–2025), where he was an essential stakeholder in high-level intergovernmental talks — acting as a subject-matter expert determining the scope of training, subject-matter exchange, and defense cooperation between the Armed Forces and friendly foreign countries. That career spanned crisis management, security and operational risk management, and large-scale operations and administration. He holds a Master's degree in Defence and Strategic Studies from the University of Madras and a Bachelor of Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University, and completed the General Management Programme (GMP) at the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi.
